Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is the product data collected?
We use Amazon's Creators API:
- Discovery: Creators API search periodically discovers product ASINs.
- Detailed data: Creators API item requests provide current price, title, brand, image URL, and available product features.
- Updates: The current-price feed is scheduled twice daily.
How are the prices calculated?
- Price per serving: current price divided by listed servings.
- Price per gram of creatine: current price divided by total verified creatine in the container (servings × creatine per serving).
Note: Inconsistent labels can produce missing values. We leave those values blank and exclude the listing from cost-per-gram rankings rather than assigning a typical 5g dose.
How often is the data updated?
The current product feed is scheduled twice daily. The displayed timestamp identifies the latest successful refresh.
How do I use the site?
The main table lists creatine supplements found on Amazon. You can:
- Sort: Click a column header to change the order.
- Search: Use the search bar to filter by product or brand.
- Click: Open a sponsored Amazon product link.
Why are some products missing?
Possible reasons include:
- The product has not been discovered by the API search process yet.
- The Amazon API didn't return the product when we requested its details (e.g., temporary unavailability).
- We couldn't reliably extract essential information (price, servings, creatine grams) needed for calculations.
- The product was manually excluded via our exclusion list.
